It’s a good time to be a Kpop fan right now. First you had Henry release Real Love and now you have Triple H making their sub-unit debut with 365 Fresh. The MV has literally dropped less than 1 hour ago as of writing this. You may have remembered me mentioning that I was hyped for this release, well I was not kidding. I was there refreshing YouTube waiting for the video to drop. Now after watching it more than a few times, I feel comfortable talking about it.
To me the group did not disappoint, if anything it was a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting them to release such a funky song. Sounds very retro and likens back to some early disco/funk. I think HyunA, Hui, and E’dawn ought to be proud of themselves right now as there is plenty here to love. For one the video really pops. It feels like the the fashion is 80s/90s inspired but with a a bit of an updated modern flair to it. Then you also had some interesting shots full of some sexy but dirty imagery. By dirty I mean lack of polish and shine as opposed to “adult”. Although there where a couple of things that happen in the MV that push the line just a bit. Some scenes that where sexually suggestive plus more darker shots like them all jumping off at the end. I’m kinda surprised they managed to avoid a 19+ rating.
The thing a lot of fans are gonna come out of this with though will probs be the fact that HyunA kissed E’dawn. I know fans so I’m gonna call it now. 😛 lol In terms of criticisms I can only think of one. That being that I did think the MV is a little long. The video is 4 minutes and 57 seconds. At most I usually want my music videos to be 4minutes or under. Other than that I am pleased by the end product. It’s totally something worth sharing with you all so here is the MV:
So what do you all think? I know some people out there where saying that they would have preferred a Trouble Maker comeback instead or that this would be a project similar to that. After listening to it I can say that it ultimately feels like it’s own thing and I like that. Feels different and yes, Fresh. 😛 It’s a new direction for these artists to take their music in and I think it could pay off well for them by showing people that they can diversify their sound.
Well that is all for now. Thanks for reading and checking out the song. 🙂
