Romancin’ With MONSTA X

When you first listen to this group two things are quickly bound to make themselves abundantly clear:

  1. This group has really raw/powerful vocals.
  2. For as raw/powerful as the vocals can get, their beats can go even harder

Thus one can only but begin to imagine the amazing results this group can achieve by having those two things. I would venture to say that because of that they’re amongst one of the most lit groups you will likely ever find in Kpop as they aren’t ones to hold anything back…at all. 🙂 And when it comes to the Romancin’ part they have no rivals because no one is able to touch on the subject with the intensity that they’re able to. I kid you not when I say these dudes have the ability to produce some of the most intense and in your face love songs I have ever heard out of any genre!

Now sure they have some of those more standard love ballads in their discography too but that is not what I wanna focus on right now at all. I instead wanna showcase what makes them standout from the rest. Which is their amazing ability to vocalize raw emotion without having to “wrap it up in a nice little bow” so to speak. With them what you get is the other side of the coin instead. You know, a musical representation of when things aren’t so clean and anxiety levels way are up. When you feel like your heart is full on pumping and your thoughts are racing at a million miles per minute. It’s a side I don’t think we get often enough off but no worries cuz Monsta X has got you covered. 😀

One song in particular that is a good example of all this is called Be Quiet. I remember being taken aback by it the first time I heard it because I wasn’t braced for it at all. It quickly blew my mind and became my fave song of theirs up until Beautiful, another song that they came out with more recently. What I loved about Be Quiet though was that as soon as you hit play that beat is quick to smack you across the face. lol It only gets even dirtier as it goes along up until it hits that inevitable beat drop.

Best of all was the lyrics though. Not to say that they were the most creative but I could really relate to them and the emotion they evoked. To me they adequately expressed liking/being enthralled/captivated by someone in a way that felt genuine to what that moment has felt like for me in the past. Because whenever I have been in a situation like that I would describe it as overwhelming and that is how this song felt. In the best way possible of course. 😀

Whether it be directly about love or themes that approach that, you can guarantee that this group will go out. It sucks that this song never got an official MV but I am at least happy that it exists. Specially since its a sentiment that can be expressed about many of their non-title songs. The group releases quality content with little filler, because of this I have developed a special place in my heart for them. Going as far as trying to spread that love, hoping others can give this group a chance. In a perfect world for me MONSTA X would be at the top with EXO and BTS. Hopefully one day that will happen. For now I leave you with the song itself, Be Quiet.

So did you like it? ^_^
