Is BTS Influential?

Welp considering how hard it is to avoid them within the Kpop fandom, I would venture to say…of course they are. Even more so now that they have been getting all this Western media attention.  And I would guarantee that fellow ARMYs around the world would share that same sentiment. I mean why else would they be one of the most vocal fanbases ever. Like have you looked at BTS’s twitter lately. It’s one thing to have a lot of followers, it’s another to have them actually engage in your content. Just wait for BTS to post something new and you will see how quick people are to like it and share it. It’s cray cray levels of fanboyisms/fangirlisms/dedication whatever you wanna call it right there. lol 😛

But why is this the case? Is it only because they are a bunch of good looking guys that have good marketing behind them? No I don’t think so. It probably helps, sure, but I think it all boils down to the quality of their content and how it resonates with the fans on a deeper level. Having topical songs about things like, societal pressures, bullying, female empowerment, fighting for what you believe in, etc. All relatable things that translate across cultures and affect youths everywhere.  So when you then add the shininess that Kpop is known for onto that, it becomes an even more of a irresistible thing.

Now the reason I’m bringing all this up is because a certain magazine has given this group their Seal of Approval recently. I am talking about Time Magazine here. THE Time Magazine. I don’t know how many of you out there actually read it nowadays but it is one that I am sure just about every one has come across at one point or another. It is quite the famous publication after all. With a pretty good legacy behind them as they’ve been around for awhile, since 1923 if you wanna be exact. Making it a real honor that they have now included BTS to their newest list, “The 25 Most Influential people of The Internet.”

Seriously just when you think the BTS news out there is starting to slow down, BOOM!, something new like this drops. haha This news coming off the heels of them celebrating 4 years together! Also of them getting close to wrapping up their Wings Tour, and getting ready to start preparing for their next comeback. Which you know will likely get the internet buzzing yet again in the near future. 🙂

So what are y’all’s  thoughts on this latest development, pretty cool right? I look forward to hopefully seeing the group react to this awesome news.

  2. More BTS, here I am !
    Haha.
I agree! They are definitely influential. Hell, if millions of followers hanging to every one of their awesome words isn’t influential, I don’t know what is!

On a side topic, its sad that Bon Voyage two is paid now… 😦
I don’t know when I’ll be able to watch it

  3. Yeah, I agree they’re very, VERY influential. I love how after all this success they had, they still are very real. They’re very in tune with everyday problems and I love how they address them. Like RapMon and Wale’s “Change,” it was catchy and still had a good message. Ah, I love them so much!
