Well peeps, it looks like we are already more than a few days into July. Meaning it’s a good a time as any to share the new dramas that I’m gonna be watching this month…Ok maybe “new” isn’t the right word as I always tend to fall waaay behind everybody else. haha Regardless, I feel confident in my picks. 😀 They are Another Miss Oh and Nine: Nine Times Time Travel. Two dramas that are kinda far off the typical fluff that I’m used to. Meaning it’s bound to be an an interesting month for my drama watching habits.
Another Miss Oh
Out of the two this was the first that caught my eye. Mostly because it seemed to be an odd mix of multiple genres. It’s labeled as a melodrama, Romance, Supernatural , AND comedy…like what? Then when I read the description I was left more perplexed because it sounded equally far off. I was thinking it may all be too much and this could lead to a disaster but when I looked at mydramalist it seemed to have a mostly positive reaction. As a matter a fact it even had an 8.5 rating. Thus my interest was peeked.
What this drama is supposed to be about in the first place is two women who share the same name, Oh Hae Yeong. The two of them have supposedly had both their lives intertwined ever since their high school days. With our female lead being, as the title suggests, “another” Oh Hae Yeong. Never getting anywhere near the praise, attention, or admiration of her counterpart. Now if you left it at that it would seem like this could be a nice character piece….but there is way more apparently. Introducing now the male lead, Park Do Kyeong, who had previously had a connection with the more popular one, only to now get involved with our female lead….after he put her fiance in jail!! Yup you heard that right and again though that is not enough because it also turns out that the guy can see glimpses into her/his future. 😮
I’ll admit that going in I’m gonna have my fair share of skepticism because it’s gonna be hard to balance all these genres and plot points together. However, I am at the very least looking forward to not being bored cuz it seems like its gonna have a lot of things going for it. Hopefully if it does skimp out on something it won’t be on the characters because that is what this drama feels to be the most primed for. If it can just get that right I may be able to forgive any other short comings. 🙂
Nine: Nine Times Time Travel
Moving on I now wanna talk about this drama that I recently noticed got put on Netflix! It’s a drama that I remember wanting to watch back when it first aired. I remember hearing a lot of positive buzz around it but I guess it kinda got pushed further and further back as I added more dramas to my list. At some point It must have skipped my mind entirely because I didn’t remember to watch it until now. What makes it so interesting is that it’s a time travel drama. Which I suppose is a genre that I have been severely obsessed with as of late. You may have noticed with my recent reviews of dramas like Tomorrow With You, Love, Timeless, and Back to 1989. The plot of this one is also pretty out there but you kind of expect it because of it’s premise.
You have here an anchorman by the name of Park Sun Woo. His deal is that after finding 9 magical incense, he notices that with them he has the ability to travel back 20 years. Giving him the chance to change some significant tragedies in his life. And the intrigue is in if he can actually do that and if he does, what the ramifications would be like.
Without a doubt this is the drama I am more curious about because so many people have told me that they love it. Not only that they have told me that it’s supposed to be one were the character can have a real impact on the timeline. Making it a show that makes one question whether he should be doing these kind of things or not. Or at the very least makes you realize the kind of consequences our actions can have. All stuff that would tickle my brain so it gets me excited and pumped up to watch!!!
Now before I close this out I just gotta say a quick thing. That is that I know that for a whole month 2 dramas seems like a little bit. Specially if you are a well known drama addict like me. But I do wanna point out and have you keep in mind that I could easily throw in another 1,2, or 3 into the mix. O.O For example, I’m already strongly considering Circle. Hmmm…
Anyways, thanks for reading these ramblings of mine. Hope to review these dramas sometime in the future. Like always feel free to share your thoughts. Like what dramas are you watching and which ones do you plan to check out. If you have any recommendations I am always quick to listen too. ^_^
