Hola mis amigos. Hope your having a bright and lovely day today cuz I know I sure am. 🤗😊Although I do wanna take a brief moment to talk about something small that happened just the other night while I was over on Dramafever, the popular Kdrama site. You see much to my surprise I couldn’t find anything new to watch while I was on there. That’s because as crazy as it may sound, I’d already seen everything! Surprising? Yeah I’ve had a lot of free time to kill the last couple of months…A LOT, well for the most part. 😅 Lol
But first let me take a step back to clarify as my statement might not be entirely accurate. What I should better say is that I’ve already watched everything that happened to be on my list, was popular, and/or well rated on the site. Which has left me with a bit of a conundrum on my hands. As it meant going forward I’d either have to go on and watch some not so greatly reviewed dramas, or I’d have to go watch some ongoing ones, OR I guess I could go ahead and re-watch some of my good ol’ faves. And seeing as I’m not a big fan of the whole waiting week to week thing, ongoing dramas were out of the question. So really it was down to two options, do I take a chance on what others thought were underwhelming dramas or do I go with what has been proven to work? Based on the title you can probs make an edumacated guess to what I went with…🤓😜
That’s correct! I went for the latter thinking it was the obvious better choice. Unfortunately as it turns out it wasn’t as good of a choice for me as I had hoped. I mean things did start alright but the problem quickly made itself clear when I hit play on some truly amazing shows and yet I began to feel bored. And I seriously gave a bunch of shows a chance…For example my first pick was Goblin and if you’ve read my review you would know it’s one of my highest rated so far. But I couldn’t even get into that one despite how awesome I thought the bromance was the first time around. I thought maybe the problem was I was re-watching it too soon. ..Nope that didn’t turn out to be the case. Because I also tried going back to older dramas like My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox and not even Shin Min -Ah was able to do it for me. And I have the biggest crush on her!
No matter what show I put on I constantly found myself skipping around the episodes to get straight into the highlights. Why was this the case though? I’m thinking that the fact that I knew everything that was gonna happen played a big part. It just kept bugging me throughout which is weird cuz I remember as a little kid that would never be a problem for me, like ever. Heck I remember watching Toy Story, I kid you not, a total of 5 times during one sitting back then.
However I suppose this whole internet and streaming thing has really had an effect on my watching habits. More so than I had previously thought because now…I seem to be all about what “new” experience can I have next. So when I’m re-watching something it feels like such a waste. Like as if I should be watching something new instead. Back then I guess we didn’t really have that option. What was I gonna do, buy a buttload of DVDs or go out and rent a bunch of movies? I was a just a little kid then. Thus it was normal to just sit there and re-watch to my heart’s content. But now with how easy it is to find stuff online I feel compelled to venture into uncharted territory and constantly be on a mission of exploration.
Meaning I’m probs gonna need to take a short break from dramas until I rebuild a bit of a back catalog of shows to watch. So for now I’m gonna be focusing on getting reviews out for all those dramas I crammed in the last few months. Of which there are a great many believe me. So no worries this blog is gonna be busy for days and days to come. 😛 Meanwhile in the whole watching department I think I’m gonna go back to anime and who knows maybe check out some media from some other countries too while I’m at it. Like it’s been awhile since I’ve watched some British shows so it should be fun to go back to that. But maybe in addition to those I could also give a try to some Swedish TV or maybe some French Programming? Would any of you have any suggestions?
But before I close this out I’m curious, do you peeps enjoy re-watching shows or have you become like me? If you do then what was the last show you re-watched? Was it anywhere near as fun as your first time? I think if I ever give re-watching a show a try again it’s gonna need to be with somebody else in the room. With a person who hasn’t seen the show that way I could get some added fun from watching their reactions. And on that note I’ll see you on the next post. ^_____^
P.S. At least you can get something out of this. That it is POSSIBLE to catch up on your “to watch” lists. Hahaha All it takes is a few weeks/months of having no life whatsoever…..But I don’t know if I should be proud of that… 🤔 Maybe I should take a closer look and maybe even make a post about how that experience was like? hehe
