This is How I Watch Kdramas

What I mean by the title today is quite literal since I wanna share how it is I actually watch KDRAMAS. As in what kind of snacks do I like to have with me, what sites do I prefer, what my fave drama watching position is, oh and yeah also what specific platform do I usually like to watch them on. Basically I wanna cover all the basics. Like am I a watch them “on a TV” kind of guy or am I more of a “on a tablet” type of person, you know all that sorta jazz. Haha

Not sure what made me inspired to talk about such things exactly but hey here we are. Tis what it is I suppose. ๐Ÿ˜› And if throughout you feel like you wanna share your own watching habits too then please by all means do so. Maybe we can compare and contrast our styles even. ๐Ÿ˜Š I know I could always use tips to enhance my own viewing experience.

And with that said my peeps let’s move onwards:

1.What Sites?

To start with, how about we go with the basics and focus on the streaming sites I use. I know there are many popular illegitimate ones for example I could name, but surprisingly I don’t use any of them…anymore. Ok so I wont lie and I will admit I did use sites like mysoju(not sure if that is still around) when I started, because really there weren’t any legal alternatives available back then.ย  ๐Ÿ˜… But since then luckily with time that’s changed, and because of this I do my best to support my Kdrama passion by using legitimate only sources now.

And if you are a Drama addict you will probs recognize my main two right of the bat, Viki and Dramafever. They are like the biggest ones in the game at the moment. Between them both you can just about get all the big name dramas out there. So if you are recently looking to jump into the Kdrama world those two are a must. However early on if you don’t have any friends to get into them with you, you may have more fun on theย Vikiย  site cuz they have this thing called timed comments on there. That is were comments people leave show up while you are watching the drama. Gives you that feeling you aren’t watching a lone which could be nice.

I’m just saying that one specially could add a new layer of fun for all the newbies out there. ๐Ÿ™‚

2.What Position?

Ok moving on to my fave watching position. I wanna talk about this because I feel mine is more out there than most. We all know the more traditional ones like sitting down in standard position, laying on the bed propped up, or laying on the floor belly down right? Well for me I like laying on the couch with my legs perched at the top looking like I’m gonna fall right off. lol To get a basic idea here is the closest picture I could find to what I normally look like. ๐Ÿ˜› Not a 100% but you get the gist right?

I know some of you must be thinking how can you even watch tv like that. O_o However that’s the thing… I don’t watch dramas on my TV and that gets us right along to the next thing.

3.What Platform?

You see I looove to watch Kdramas and Kmovies on my phone. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Surprising? Yeah i can see how it would be cuz I know a lot of peeps would much rather watch on a big screen, let a lone on the tiny screen on your phones. But what can I tell you, for me it’s the best when I can turn off the lights, blast the sound through my head phones, and have the drama playing right in the palm of my hands. It’s the best way to get me to zone everything out and instead put my sole focus on the drama itself. ๐Ÿ™‚

In fact this shizz works so good I’ve had days where I’ll start watching something late at night and before I know it, I look out the window and see it’s getting brighter. Seriously it has happened waay more times than it should. And poor ol’ me has to go straight to the kitchen to prepare something for myself as there is no more time for sleep anymore. It’s not an everyday occurrence luckily but I definitely need to work on it. ๐Ÿ˜›

4. What Snacks?

Lastly we get to the most important part, the snacks! Lol I go to the movies all the time and part of the watching experience there is eating something and you know what I think that is what has influenced me at home. Because drama or no drama if I am watching something I need to be snackin’ on something too. Although at home I’m not a fan of popcorn because I don’t wanna be picking up all the crumbs off the floor after. lolย  Which is why I think Ice cream is the best! Yay for Ice cream Woot Woot!

Honestly almost any kind will do and satisfy me, but my faves without a doubt are ‘chocolate swirl” and “cookies and cream” with the emphasis on “COOKIES AND CREAM.” I swear there is nothing in life sweeter than having a nice blanket on top while eating ice cream and watching a good drama. ๐Ÿ˜€ No matter what weird and wacky position you choose. ๐Ÿ˜›

So yup that is overall how I watch my dramas. Now how about you? ^_____^ Like always feel free to share.

  1. Haha, that image you provided for how you watch dramas was too funny ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
I only watch on Viki because Dramafever’s content is almost completely not available in my country. I watch it on my IPad usually in bed (yes I am lazy like that ๐Ÿ˜‚). And a bag of crisps is my go to food ๐Ÿ˜€ Really enjoyable post this one ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Well I have a huge problem, as I live in Poland and most k-drama sites are blocked for my country. Whenever I want to play them and watch it says that this material isn’t available in my country.

  3. I use the same sites AND the same position! Which is probably even weirder because I DO watch it on TV XD

However, I don’t watch it like that the whole time, because the other times we (I generally watch with a friend) concentrate on pushing each other off. XD
No, I just generally like cross legged or leaning against her knees, one of those.
Ice cream is good, but I generally eat crisps like Rai-san!

    • Depends. Lately I’ve mostly been catching up on Kmovies but normally I’ll watch one or two a week. However when I do get time off I have been known to binge a whole show in a day! Lol ๐Ÿ™‚ Watching dramas is like my most relaxing pass time.

      • Yes I do. A fave of mine right now is called Abnormal Summit or also called Non-Summit. It was recently added to Netflix I think. Anyways its a show were they have foreigners from all sorts of countries giving their thoughts on different topics in a good natured way. I love it. I also like Knowing Bros and Running Man. Oh and I also watched We Got Married. ๐Ÿ™‚ Which do you like?

      • Ohh! I like Knowing Bros so much! Heechul and Ho dong are my faves!!!! Running man is something I consider watching. I have also watched a portion of We Got Married. The Bbyu couple broke my heart!!! Who are your faves in WGM? I heard Oppa Heechul has 15 WGM episodes. Have you watched them?

Weekly Idol is pretty entertaining too! Oh, and I almost forgot The Law of the Jungle. Fun times!!

  4. I’m all about the big screen TV while relaxing on the couch. I get seriously unhappy if my TV apps give me problems and I have to switch to a tablet, lol. I’m also a big supporter of the legit sites like DF and Viki. They do still carry most of the dramas, although several of the cable dramas have been missed lately which is a bummer. But for the most part, they give me what I want ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. lol I use many different positions while watching my dramas, including the one you showed in the pic. Which is why I also use my phone, even when my family isn’t around to pester me about watching those “chinese” shows. UGH. lol If you had to choose one, would it be dramafever or viki? Just hypothetically, I use both. LOL
