Talking about World Wide Pop?

1221

At this point in the game my love for pop music should come as no surprise to any of you. It IS in the name of my Blog after all, Kpop-Khop. However with a name like that I’m sure I may surprise a lot of you when I say my obsession for the genre far outreaches from the sole grasps of Kpop. Yeah hard to believe but it’s 100% true. Indeed I’ve grown up with music all my life and as a result I actually really like all types of music in general, but yes for some inexplicable reason Pop specifically gets me in some kind of way no other genre has.

Maybe this shizz started because I grew up on Britney Spears(she used to be everywhere on TV) or maybe it was because when I thought I would finally move on here came Lady Gaga onto the scene(and as V from BTS put it, yes she is queen)? Honestly I can’t really tell you what was the root cause but what I can say is that over the years, these last couple for sure, my addiction has gotten stronger and I have now been listening to artists that excel in the genre from all around the globe.

I seriously bet if you named any country I could name at least one artist from there that I like… ok don’t actually do that because I’m not really familiar with EVERY country. 😛 But my main point that “I do know many” does still stand. Which is why I thought it would be a neat Idea to share some of them with you. That’s why my plan going forward is gonna be for me to, about once a week, pick a country and share say around 3 artists from there that I enjoy. Don’t you worry I’ll be sure to keep these posts short and sweet.

Hopefully though through doing these you’ll be able to find some new jams you can obsess over and at the same time I can add some diversity to this blog. And of course if you have any requests yourselves, well I’ll be glad to listen to them too! No reason it can’t work both ways. 😃

As for when I’ll start doing this, It’ll probs be in about 1 or two weeks from today. Why that long? 😮 Let’s not kid ourselves, BTS still has a lot of stuff planned and you know I gotta talk about that. Yes I know, I’ve already been talking so much about them this has practically turned into a BTS only blog. But don’t worry I’ll get back to different things soon enough. 🙂 But in the meantime if you wanna recommend anything for me to listen to then please by all means start recommending now. I have a pretty open mind and will give anything a chance. ^_____^

With all that said, Let me give you a little tease right now by going ahead and recommending you one today!

To start let me pick something that isn’t from America, or from an Asian country for that matter, or that has a lot of views. That way it’s somewhat different from the things I usually get on here to talk about and it also increases the chances of you not knowing about them. And from a quick glance through my playlist I know just the perfect  person to start this off with. Her name is XHENSILA.

I’m pretty sure most of you who follow my blog will probs like her. She is different yet pretty similar to a lot of the artists I have talked about on here before. For starters she mixes pop with RnB and like with many of the tracks I usually talk about, this particular one of hers has a killer beat! But best of all I think she has some legit power vocals and I love how she has some attitude in her persona too. Do I know a lick of what the song is about…nope, but it hasn’t stopped me from vibing to it and it shouldn’t stop you either.  😛

All I know about her professional life is that she is an Albanian singer who has been around since 2007/2008. She apparently originally broke onto the scene through one of those music type eliminations shows. Yup seems like those have gone world wide and every country has one now. lol Anywho while I may still be new to Albanian music she has quickly become one of my faves so please do make sure check her out if you haven’t. 😇 Also if you do love this consider checking out her collab with Kida because she is another artist I like. That song is called Uh Baby.

and there you you have it. Any thoughts at all? Let me know down below.

  1. This is a fantastic idea. I grew up listening to Britney Spears too and Backstreet Boys (I was a huge fan) and many others among them being artists my parents grew up listening to (ABBA, Queen, Bee Gees, Boney M. etc.). This song by Xhensila is pretty good, never heard of her before.

    • Cool to see you bring up Backstreet boys. One of the OG boy groups. Don’t think there is anybody on this planet who hasn’t heard “I want it that way” at least once. lol and all those other names you brought up are cool too. 🙂

      • Kodus! To everyone who grow up with 90’s pop! And still embracing the new generation of pop music today! I really love people who are not close minded when it comes to music! Love y’all! 😘
